A Year of Bargue
The plates of Charles Bargue have been an ongoing source of deep technical practice and learning for me in the last year. They are rich in both knowledge and beauty and are an excellent resource for anyone with a desire to improve drawing. Although having a teacher to consult when working through the Bargue plates does expand the possibilites for deep learning, it is in no way required to benefit from this course of study. The majority of the studies you see here were done exclusively under the influence of Bargue alone. The more complex images at the top of the page benefited from the help and guidance of a trusted teacher. Enjoy!
