Mandalas

Traditionally, mandalas represent the wholeness and continuity of the universe. This is expressed first and foremost as the presentation of the circle as primary. It is a feminine, inclusive shape that is both opening and encompassing. In these works, the subtle change in value from the edge to the center is married to the rotational movement the patterning of the rings. Depending upon the outlook of the viewer, these works move either pull toward the center or they rotate continually in the minds eye. Either way, they invite the viewer to a dream of wholeness.

“We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we began and to know the place for the first time”

— T.S. Eliot from “Little Gidding”
